Integration

Background information
Immigrants are offered guidance and counselling related to integration, health and social welfare services, housing, personal finance and livelihood, studying and work. The advisers explain what services are available, how they can be accessed and what the preconditions for using them are. They direct immigrants to all service providers.
Immigrants can get counselling for example on telephone or by visiting a service point. The advisers do not make decisions related to the services.

Kieliklubi – Practice Finnish in a relaxed setting
Kieliklubi is a low-threshold meeting place where you can practice everyday Finnish in a friendly and supportive environment. It is intended for immigrants who want to strengthen their spoken language skills, build confidence, and use Finnish in real-life situations.
Kieliklubi is not a language course but an informal space for conversation, interaction and meeting others. Everyone is welcome, regardless of language level, and participation is free of charge.
The club supports inclusion and community by bringing people together and encouraging active language use in everyday life. It complements formal language studies and helps maintain and develop Finnish skills through regular practice.

Civic orientation – information about life in Finland
Civic orientation is part of the integration services offered to newcomers in Rauma. It provides practical information about living, working and participating in Finnish society.
During the orientation, participants learn about everyday life, services, education and employment, as well as their rights and responsibilities. The goal is to help newcomers understand how Finnish society works and to support their active participation in the community.
Civic orientation is usually provided in the participant’s own language or another language they understand well. It is a structured program that supports integration in its early stages and helps people feel at home in their new environment.
