Youth and Students

The City of Rauma supports young people in finding employment through measures such as summer job and recruitment subsidies. Internship opportunities for students are supported through the Tech Summer Trainee Campaign.
Summer Job Subsidy
Young people from Rauma or who have gone to study can apply for summer work support for a summer job or self-employment. The total value of the summer work grant is 480 euros.
The summer work voucher is a 480 euro contribution to the employer’s wage costs and is intended to help young people find summer work in companies in Rauma or Rauma. The summer job must take place in Rauma and the young person must live either full-time or for the summer in Rauma. The young person applies for the summer work voucher themselves. The voucher is valid for three weeks at a time.
The Summer Entrepreneurs 2026 campaign the young person sets up a business for the summer. You can start a business on your own or with a friend. The aim is to help young people in the area to find summer employment through entrepreneurship. The summer entrepreneurs are supported by a summer entrepreneur mentor hired by the City of Rauma.
Tech Summer Trainee Campaign
The City of Rauma offers housing and bus benefits to engineering and architecture students who take summer jobs at technology and construction companies or architectural firms operating in Rauma. The bus benefit can also be exchanged for a bicycle benefit. The benefits are provided in exchange for an employment contract and are valid during June, July, and August.
The company and the student are responsible for drawing up the summer employment contract in the usual manner. The company must be located in Rauma. The student gains access to the “housing” and “transportation” benefits by presenting their employment contract to the campaign project manager.
The campaign is aimed at architecture or engineering students at Finnish universities of technology (such as Aalto University, Tampere University, LUT University, and the University of Oulu).
Benefits can be granted to approximately 30 summer employees. The campaign supports companies’ recruitment needs among future experts in technical fields.
